Giving appreciated stocks or other publicly traded securities can be one of the most
tax-effient way to support CURED.
Many employers offer matching gift programs for current employees, and some also extend them to retirees and spouses. That means your donations to CURED could be doubled or even tripled at no additional cost to you.
A quick search through your employer’s benefits portal or a conversation with your Human Resources department can tell you if your company offers a matching gift program. It’s one of the easiest ways to increase the impact of your generosity.
If you are 70 1/2 or older, you may be eligible to make a Qualified Charitable Distribution directly from your Individual Retirement Account to CURED. Rather than withdrawing the funds yourself and making a donation, direct your IRA custodian to send the gift directly to CURED. Within IRS limits, this contribution is excluded from your taxable income and counts toward your Required Minimum Distribution making this a tax efficent way to support CURED.
You can designate CURED as a primary or secondary beneficiary of your retirement account, life insurance policy, donor-advised fund, bank account, brokerage account, or other financial assets. It’s often as simple as completing or updating a beneficiary designation form. Consider gifting CURED a life insurance policy that is no longer needed by current beneficiaries.
